Re-roofing Works to Two Substantial Roofs of a 4 Storey Protected Structure with The Refurbishing of Numerous Glazed Roof Lights.

This project involved the re-roofing works to two large roofs of a 4 storey listed / protected structure. What were the natural slates on the existing roofs were removed and salvaged for reuse, once exposed all roof timbers which had become defective over time were removed and replaced with new treated timbers. Kingspan insulation was fitted between the rafters to all roof spaces, the roofs in turn were reinstated using tyvek felt, treated timber battens with both new & salvaged “blue bangor” natural slates and clay ridge tiles. Roof lights were removed from certain areas of the roofs and these areas were infilled & slated, the remainder of the roof lights had new glazing bars and glazing fitted. All lead flashings were replaced as new, steel handrails were fitted to the parapet walls around the perimeter of the roofs. The raking out & re-pointing of brick chimneys and walls concluded the project.
